Hester ruins 2007 ProperBowl game
Thanks a lot for ruining the game, Devin!
While Devin Hester's 92-yard, game-opening kickoff return for a touchdown in the rain did not sway the outcome of Super Bowl XLI (the Colts came back to win 29-17), it sure did sway the outcome of the ProperBowl.com game.
His runback immediately pushed some contestants to the top of the list, rewarding them for their bold – some might say ridiculous – predictions.
As you will see when you get down to making your selections in this free game (click here to sign up now, we will send you email alerts when it’s ready to go!), you get more contest points when you make bold predictions.
Last year, one contestant picked the longshot answer to the question; How will the game's first touchdown be scored? It offered 50 points for a field goal, 40 for a touchdown, 200 for a fumble recovery or INT return and 750 points for a kickoff return.
So that contestant automatically earned an insurmountable a lead and won easily. But had he lost that longshot, he would have been hopeless behind the competition who took the smaller points for the safer pick.
This contestant further legged out his ridiculous lead when he answered Yes to Will there be a kickoff return for a touchdown? The 'No' answer – a sensible one given how infrequently it happens – was good for 20 points. The 'Yes' answer – another big longshot – was worth 200 points.
He pocketed the money and was crowned ProperBowl Challenge champion, while others muttered about his fluky luck and vowed 'Wait til next year.'
Well, next year is here. There are 25 new props-style questions ready for your best answers and the contest will be ready to roll shortly.
And it's not just an enhanced experience watching the big game or in securing bragging rights for a full year – it's about serious prizes!
If last year’s winner defends his title, he will get a huge 42-inch Plasma TV, a proper screen to watch the big game next year, from Team ProperBowl.com. The runnerup will get a 32-inch Plasma flat screen TV to watch next year's big game on.
And the next five highest finishers also pocket cool prizes.
